Turks first came to West Germany in large numbers after the signing of a worker recruitment agreement on October 30, 1961. At the time, neither the'guest workers'nor the German authorities expected them to stay for the long term. DW visits a family that for three generations has lived in Germany - but hasn't forgotten its Turkish roots.
